What Really Happens When You Speak Truth to Power

I'm sure anyone who is vaguely familiar with politics remembers Steven Colbert's blistering performance at last year's White House Correspondents' Association dinner. While some thought he went to far in criticizing Bush, who was just feet away with Laura, I however, took it a different way: It's the First Amendment at its finest, being able to freely, without fear of reprisals, speak truth to anyone, no matter what position they hold (not NEARLY every country can claim this). So, what did the Association do: they picked someone for the April 21, 2007 dinner that will be gentle, so don't expect the fireworks OR the truth to come out. Here is the Washington Post's full article on this.
